What are you thankful for this year?

I have had my fair share of difficulties and pain to go through, but I have had some wonderful memories to make too, I fell in love and I am loved back, traveled to see Northern Lights, went back to my country, and spent time with my family and friends, traveled to Thailand and had some unforgettable adventures, then had a romantic trip to French Riviera and Southern France. Going to Chengdu to see Panda Sanctuary soon, I feel like I am grateful and regardless of all the pain and challenges I have had to overcome I had a nice time, I can only pray it goes on well.

I'm grateful for my good health, my home and gardens, my wonderful wife and three cats.
A mama kitty and three kittens started hanging around our porch a couple of months ago. At first, they were skittish, but we fed them and all but one of the kittens started letting us pet them.
One kitten was really friendly, so we brought him in the house. The mama cat and one kitten stopped hanging around, but the other kitten still hung around and was really friendly so we brought her in.
So, basically, we got adopted by two new kittens. The boy is light gray with dark stripes and spots. He has a long, fluffy tail. We named him Stirling. The girl is cream color with gray on her face and the tip of her fluffy tail. We named her Pearl. They are both really cute and have totally acclimated. They get along with our big, 7 year old, orange boy cat named Poatie. He's a sweetheart. I think he's happy to have someone to play with.
That's how we wound up with three cats.

In the early summer, my wife and I drove up to the northern California coast to tour the redwood forests. We had a great time.

My wife and one of her friends took off on the last day of August for a two week trip across the country. My wife dropped her friend off in Missouri and continued on to Cincinnati to visit her family for three days. Then she returned, picked up her friend, and they drove home. It was a two week trip and they had a great time seeing the sights. Quite an adventure.
I stayed home to take care of the cats, the bunny and our vegetable gardens.

I celebrated my first anniversary with my Chinese wife, Ms. Helen, and we are very happy together. We bought a home and moved in about a month ago. I just realized a dream of many years by buying a grand piano. She is currently spending a month in China visiting her family. My mother is 94 and still with us. I have a good relationship with my brother. I am president of my church congregation, president of my alumni association, and advisor to my fraternity's chapter at the local state university. I am healthy, active, and respected by others. Life is good and God is good!

For my latest trip abroad, for the opportunity to visit beautiful countries and meet wonderful people along the way, who will always be a part of my memories and also very grateful for the time I spent with my family.
I’m also grateful to have achieved a major academic/career goal that I was working towards since last year and will get to live it soon.
Just grateful to be alive and at peace beyond everything else.

Thankful that my grandmother is still alive. She's going to be 76 on October 22nd. Thankful that my mother's surgery from having cancer went smoothly and hoping that her treatments go well. Thankful that my bestie is still alive after having a major health scare. And I'm thankful to still be alive.

I'm thankful to be healthy and still moving forward. But my year has not been going the best. I'm going through some difficult times.

People and pets are dying or leaving me. I went for a few years where it wasn't happening as much, but this year is kicking my ass.
