What is the difference between men who are obsessed with a woman and a man who loves a woman? I think a married man may be obsessed with me or love me from a distance. I'm not sure how to differentiate between the two.

Obsessed means they are infatuated with you , they need to be by you or hear from you as much as possible , they keep tabs on you 24-7 , they are obsessed , they would eat the corn out of your shit if they had to lol
Love means , you care about that person, you trust that person, you are honest and loyal and respectful to that person, They accept you for you , they don’t expect you to be perfect , but you are perfect for them , They will have your back whenever
You need them to , they will stand by your side through the good times and bad times , they just love you for you. Whether they are with you or not

What causes a guy to be obsessed though? I think this man is obsessed with me. He will follow my car sometimes or show up places where he knows I go and sometimes and always smiles when he sees me but only when he thinks I'm unaware but my friends picked up on this too

Kind of creepy if he is showing up to places that you are at a lot. So that’s up to you if you find that attractive or not that he is stalking you and obsessed with you , if you aren’t interested in him that way , then somehow some way you are going to have to let him know you aren’t interested and he tell him he doesn’t have a chance. If he starts acting crazy , call the cops on his ass and put a restraining order on his ass.
