Infatuation vs Obsession?

I once was told that infatuation in a relationship was okay but obsession was not… what are your thoughts?

I find it agreeable but I also believe that infatuation can be taken to far. Both are very strong words.

Infatuation: a feeling of foolish or obsessively strong love for, admiration for, or interest in someone or something

Obsession: having or showing excessive or compulsive concern with something

Infatuation is the deep romantic bond you can feel for someone. Obsession is not only the act of feeling attracted to someone, but is also the act of canalizing in that person your own fantasies.
