What is the difference between being infatuated and obsessed with someone isn't that the same thing?

Infatuation can just be lusting and thinking about someone a lot as they feel in love. Where as obsessed its like they can't stop thinking about them, what they are doing and where they are, don't want to do anything else, may start stalking.. very different things lol

I think infatuation isn't as intense as obsession.

I'm obsessed with my partner. I always want to know what he's doing, how he's feeling what he's up to etc. If I had my way I'd crawl into his skin and just stay there. 😆 🤣

Limerence is a one-sided romantic obsession, it’s not quite the same as infatuation. Obsession means you need it, like NEED that person in your life. It doesn’t matter if they want you or not, they HAVE to be in your life in the way you want and that’s the only thing that matters forever. Infatuation has more to do with fantasy, the enjoyment of a specific act and a specific idea of said person in your head and the reality of knowing they might not meet this image you’ve cultivated of them but you’d like the opportunity to find out. Infatuation can dissipate in the face of rejection. Obsession can not.

Personally I think it's the same thing but as there can maybe be different levels... maybe obsessed can be stronger? Leading to dangerous levels that make it into the movies lol

Well... imagine if obsession can go from. level 1 to 20 and infatuation level 1 to 15... there's a large amount of "the same" .
