Well I’d be somewhat disappointed that both would treat me so poorly but cheating says infinitely more about the cheater than whom they have betrayed. People can give themselves all sorts of justifications for cheating but the truth of the matter is that there isn’t any that stand up in my opinion. Cheating signals to me that the relationship and or the person is broken. Of course I’d likely be hurt that the relationship has now got to end but happy in the end that I’d found out they couldn’t be with me because of their failing , not of mine.

My view is quite binary in relationships , if you’d rather cheat than end the relationship / face and tackle the problems you or your relationship has then you simply are not fit to be in a relationship …. Period

Thank them both for self identifying early on at age 23. You can toss her to the curb and leave your "best friend" in the rear view mirror then move on in your life without too much damage. Imagine if you were 20 years in, 43 years old and you had 3 kids.

I don’t think I would keep the partner or the friend. I haven’t gotten into a relationship with any cheaters but I did have a best friend when I was younger that I would have to watch. She would go after guys I liked (I was shy, she was not), but it made it easy to know which guys not to go for tbh. I ended that friendship.
