That would never happen with my boyfriend with either of my best friends so don’t really need to entertain that thought. However if you breached that trust with your best friend you deserve for that friendship to end. That just isn’t something you do to someone, especially if that is a relationship that you value. If you did value it you should’ve said something to your friend when that line was crossed with the girlfriend vs kissing/having sex/etc. I know for me personally if someone did that to me I wouldn’t be friends with them because I wouldn’t be able to trust them

I’d walk away – I’d owe the SO nothing, no explanation, no forwarding address, back up the evidence you've found, explain to friends just before you leave, then kill my social media accounts and phone number and change all other account passwords and lock my credit/debit/bank accounts, then leave - leaving no trace where you have gone.

Also request a change of office/plant from my employer and ask that they not release details of your new posting to anyone, that will give you even more distance. This will also prevent her from being able to stalk you.

When I ghost SO I'd be removing the So’s 'safe harbour', it will be a shock when SO suddenly realises they are homeless as I had been paying the rent and living expenses, if possible I'd leave just before the rent is due informing the landlord that I'm leaving, its not worth arguing over the deposit and remove your furniture leaving SO’s belongings behind (if there's doubt about any furniture leave it behind) on the day you leave this might sound petty but it is hammering home the point.
