I move on quick from stuff like that.
Not just with abuse, the last girl I dated just wasn't compatible with me. I wasn't enjoying my time and she felt awkward for having to be someone she's not so it wasn't a healthy dynamic. Once that ended we both moved on and I haven't looked back.
Thats not a default position though after my breakups, I have an ex who i'd 100% give a second chance if she asked because that was a great relationship that failed due to the distance.

No, that type of trait is generally pretty deeply engrained into a person. Its not that they can't control it but it almost always takes more than just one other person for them to really change it. I suppose there could be exceptions given the context of what actually happened but its still generally means something of the sort that they aren't good at handling confrontation, stress or whatever the typical reasons are

I would definitely move on. Abusive behavior is not something I would tolerate whether it be physical, mental or emotional. Very rarely do they ever change and staying with them only encourages the behavior.
