Daddy's girl or daddy-hater? And what does that say about your ability to give everything in love?

A daddy-hater becomes a man-destroyer.

This was posted recently on social media with the advice: try to marry a girl who likes her dad.

Any comments are welcome. Girls, how was your relationship with your dad and what did that do to you as far as partners are concerned? Guys, what about your partner/wife? Is she a daddy's girl or not?

I was definitely a daddy's girl, but as I started growing up... I became someone who doesn't support blindly and I don't show favouritism anymore. I have had conflicts with him sometimes on some matters, but I also love him. I will agree with him sometimes, other times I'll disagree. So, I'm not at all a daddy hater nor am I daddy's girl. I think I'm a fairly good partner. Not only my current partner, but also my ex still want to be in my life (but I don't). So, I'd say I've been alright to them.

Also, I don't think girls who had terrible dad becomes a man-destroyer. Sure, some might be angry or dislike men because they felt hurt and disappointed and didn't have a good male figure in their life... But other girls actually craves a man's company when they didn't get attention and love from their father. So, it depends on the woman.

I'm the youngest of 5 so I used my cute, adorable, baby-of-the-family act to get as much of daddy's attention as I could but it is my oldest sister who is the real daddy's girl and they still go hunting/fishing together.

My next oldest sister and I eventually became Granddaddy's girls since he taught us how to make booze out of just about anything. 🤣

As far as how it affected my relationship today, I'm not sure. I consider myself a good partner but prolly still attention seeking sometimes. 😊 ( But I'm really NOT a narcissist in RL) 🤣

I was with both types of girls’ and I agree with your post , based off of my own personal experiences, , the girls’ I dated that had both parents’ were more respectful and loving and caring to me compared to the ones’ that didn’t have both parents’ in the picture , they all pretty much hated men and treated me like shit more than being nice and respectful to me. So I no longer flirt into relationships with girls’ that don’t have both parents’ in her life. Because they are miserable and negative most the time

Number one… Someone cannot control who their dad is or mother for that matter. People CAN control who they become when they’re adults.

Your dad and your husband play to totally different roles. You’re not having sex with your daddy unless you’re form Alabama or thinking of him in a sexual way unless you have something seriously wrong with you.

People simply like excuses… Instead of taking accountability. I can just blame the way my dad treated me…

This is absolutely not true. This person is confusing women with lack of strong male role models in her formative years as a daddy hater. Most of them would dearly love to have a daddy that cared about them. And those women do typically make bad partners as they typically lack self respect. Now it is possible for a woman to have no father figure in her formative years and be fed a steady diet of man-hate by her mother. Those are the women you want to avoid at all costs. Fortunately those women are about as subtle as an 800 lb. Glorilla.😆

But there are a lot of really terrible daddy's girls. Just because a woman got a daddy and he was present, doesn't necessarily mean he raised her right. Or that in some cases he was able to counteract the influences of her mom. Then you got the whole Nature vs. Nurture. Some good people just by the luck of the draw raise terrible kids.

I always loved my dad and was a bit of a daddies girl until he left the family for a hoe.. I am still my dads favourite kid and he gives me money whenever he sees me but I suppose I still hold that grudge. How about neither? I didn't love him or hate him.
He started a new family with some other woman when I was 4. He never paid child support.
He didn't like girls and he had 2 with my mom.
He had 2 boys with his new wife and spoiled them.
I believe that back in the 50's, which is when I was born, it wasn't MACHO to make girl babies but it was if you made boy babies.

We are all a product of our time. My grandfather was the one to provide for the family. Taking care of the kids was women's business. I don't recall ever having played with him. My other grandfather passed away too soon, I was 6 at the time and have only a few memories.

My father and mother both had jobs, althought my father provided for most of the family's income. He would take us to school and back. But I don't think he would have walked us around in a baby stroller. Society as a whole wasn't probably ready for that. My relation with him was difficult as I grew up. We had personalities that clashed.

I have taken care of my daughter since she was little, as there was no way around it. We had no parents or grandparents to rely on. That involved changing diapers, bathing her, getting her to school and back. Playing with her and reading bedtime stories. I still spend as much time with as possible. So I like to think that we're close. Is she growing up as a daddy's girl? I hope so. Will that have an influence on her love life? Only time will tell.
