At what point do you give up on a relationship?

That's determined by your options. Have you put yourself out there? HONESTLY have you? Because half the effort falls on your shoulders. Because if I'M putting in effort. If I'm choosing her, and she is treating me like just one of her options. And another woman comes along and CHOOSES me. Then I'm going with the OTHER woman. If currently no other woman chooses me, then I would continue indefinitely or until I just feel she's gaming me. Because a lot of women just like the chase. I guess that's fine if you Luke that sort of thing. I don't really.

He's acting like he has a lot of options -- but in know for a fact he isn't very liked by anyone once they get to know him.

I've been fairly open with him, but hit a point that I'll just be a foolish loser if I go further.

Well back to my question then. Did you really put yourself out there? Did you choose him. Because if so then you already answered your question.
I had a woman I really liked. I know she had rough go of it with other guys and she would show interest in me. But it was right up until she had other options in play. Then she would play me off them. At no point Did she convince me she wanted me over them guys. So I walked away. She chose the other guy and after he had a little fun with her he kicked her to the curb. Then she came back to me and I told her, "not interested".

The moral of this story is sometimes we have to teach people how to treat us. If you can HONESTLY say you put yourself out there and let him know that you choose him. If he didn't pick up from there, then you can walk away. And walk away with your head held high. You didn't get rejected. He just wasn't smart enough to see your worth. Some guys (hell, some women) won't figure it out till you're gone that they screwed up. Now it's up to you whether you ever give him a second shot at that point. But I'm a firm believer that I can be had by a woman very easily. But if you pass on me, then after that you have to EARN me. And understand this isn't about playing anyone or demeaning them. It's about them showing you that they they value you. That they CHOOSE you.

So based on what you told me, if you can HONESTLY say you put yourself out there and let him know you CHOSE him. And he didn't show you that he chose you I'd say you're fine to walk away at this point. But do it with your head held high. Because he didn't reject you. He MISSED OUT on you. It was his loss. And now some other guy is gonna benefit from his f*** up unless he figures it out, reverses it and works to earn you.

That's my take on ot at least.
