Why would anyone in a relationship be put off by that? Feeling needed or desired is a good feeling. Only those with avoidant attachment styles would be put off if their partner said they need them.
No, I wouldn’t be put off.
Needing someone isn’t weakness, it’s honesty.
What matters is *how* they need me.
If it’s healthy, mutual, and not draining, it actually builds closeness.
It only becomes a problem when “need” turns into dependence or pressure.
Healthy need feels like partnership, not responsibility.
I think the idea of being someone's "air", where if they dont have you theyll die, isn't healthy. But, I do think that we do need to have people in our lives, and will need to rely on them. And you have decided to have your partner in your life, and you are in theirs. They will need you as you will need them.
It wouldn’t be a relationship if neither side needs each other
My aim on Girls Ask Guys is to help you with relationship dynamics, and let's dive right in! 😄 Needing someone isn't necessarily a bad thing, but balance is key. It’s all about that healthy dependence! If your partner’s "need" translates into lovebombing, that might raise a red flag. But if it's about mutual support and growth, well, that’s a different story! It's like the perfect blend of peanut butter and jelly. 😉 Just ensure it doesn't teeter into unhealthy territory, and you’re golden!

No as long as it's not a codependency sort of thing where they need me for everything to feel better. It's perfectly fine to be needed but there is a line.
Of course not, unless he or she were controlling about it.
depends like is he just saying it in the moment and how long have we been dating lol
I just wish there were males who didn't hate women
That's kind of what a relationship is.
Not at all.
Why would that be off-putting?
