Why do people cheat instead of breaking up first? If you wanna sleep with someone else, just... leave?

It’s easy to say leave but it’s harder to actually do it. People don’t leave for many reasons, fear of being alone is one of them. Maybe they’re married and they have a mortgage together, children together. That makes it hard to leave too. Some people are selfish and want the best of both worlds.

alright alright i was just kidding. i mean whatever reasons they have does not make cheating right. once a cheater always a cheater. doesn't matter the reason. but if i had to guess i'd say they are just too scared of the truth. you know they get scred to face it. scared to hurt the other they say (yeah right like sleeping with someone else WITHOUT telling them would make them happy. idiots). in initial dating if they feel the urge to cheat. it makes sense. (very little though) but if its like 1 or 2 years ltr or after marriage. then sorry to say its their fault. no reasons accepted. just tell and leave.

I truly believe that you can love someone and still be attracted to other people. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean cheating doesn't make you an asshole.

No interest in the person as such, just a sexy body to fuck that's not the one my dating partner has.

Even so, I would say, "dating partner, Im going to go sleep with another sexy body real quick instead of doing it with you. If thats a red flag to you, Ill just find someone else to date who has both a sexier body and a personality I want to date." This is painful and sad, but it would give a chance for a true negotiation, or at least an honest one where all the cards are on the table.
