Religions are all just one way of defining something that we dont make words good enough to explain...

Spirt comes from the word breath. Which is something we can't see, being the source that gives us life. What an idea... "god"

All religions have this same concept. The religion is just someone trying to help others understand it in the way they do. No one religion is right or wrong, faith is understanding. People can't change the way they understand something, without feeling like this changed everything i know, so who am i now?

However we can always understand more. That doesn't have to mean everything else was wrong...

So change for them no I can't do that. But I can come to understand and learn more for myself.

I'm an Atheist, I don't have a religion. So I can't chuck one cult for another one. Would I adopt someone's religion to be with them? No, I'm not gonna pretend I believe in your magic invisible sky fairy and listen to some asshole preach hypocrisy to idiots every Sunday. I probably wouldn't get along well with your tribe.

I'm not really religious in the traditional, sense but if i were a hardcore evangelical Christian man and wanted to appraise the good and avoid the bad i really wouldn't date a Muslim extremist or satanist just because both would see dangerous and unstable to me, not really in general as it would be the foundation of me and without it I'd be confused and disoriented and easily lead as it's not my foundation i learned from second hand.

i would be willing to convert in a sense, like i could do it on paper and participate in the traditions, prayers as long as it doesn't affect my life too much. but i could never fully genuinely convert since i'm atheist. I don't believe in anything supernatural or divine, i can't will myself to believe in something in which i deeply don't think exists for them.

Ceremonially I certainly would if it was important to them, but I would still maintain my beliefs and traditions. You wouldn't be able to marry a traditional Jewish or Catholic person if you didn't convert to their religion. So if I became Mrs. Jamie Wallerstein, I would still have a Christmas tree and all the accoutremént.

This. I had a Church of England Service. It suited my wife and the Father was somebody important to her. I didn't care either way. There is a lot in Christianity I agree with even without the god bit.

@bddddd A lot of "higher power" ideas, manifesting, "The Secret," positivity, a lot of those things have similar ideas to Christianity and many religions really.

I think formal religions were set up to use fear to control the masses, that's why it's surprising that Democrats and the left ran away from it so much over the past 50 years, it would be ideal for their indoctrination purposes like they do with government schools, universities, Hollywood, big tech and the news media.

Probably not. I'm a polytheist, and I came to this myself after many years. I believe there are multiple supernatural entities. I also believe that they're kind of like specialists. You only need to contact them to request their aid, not more often.
