I have been gaslighted before.

Called them out on it and got met with rage. Eventually, after several incidents that made me feel like the relationship was one-sided, I contacted them to let them know I was ending the 'friendship' and gave my reasons. Got met with rage, maliciousness, and more gaslighting by both her and her new spouse. This scared the fuck out of me as this person was my 'friend'. Felt like I was dealing with completely different person and I was being stabbed through the chest at close range. The experience broke my rose colored glasses of the world.

My advice to you is to work on yourself. Become a better person. Work on your self esteem, confidence, boundaries etc. Heal yourself of any traumas that may have shaped you and made you more likely to end up in relationships with abusive people.
