Question

I like Valentines Day even though I'm not in a relationship, and I like to send a card to my chosen Valentine.

Do you like Valentines Day, and do you send cards to your chosen Valentine, or perhaps you don't have one particular special person, and you might send a few Valentines Cards?

I wrote Danielle a hand written Valentines letter instead of doing the card thing since she's into hand written letters

With Valentines day coming up, I wanted this to be extra special for you. As you may or may not know Valentines day may be associated with affection and love, but it's origins come from the martyr Saint Valentine who restored sight to the blind daughter of his jailer and he would write her letters and sign them "Your Valentine" as a farewell. He also performed weddings and ceremonies to Christian soldiers who were not allowed to get married under Roman law which was declared by their emperor. Valentines day may be celebrated around the world and may be filled with fancy hallmark greeting cards and ramped up pricing from the candy industry, but it's true meaning is still there to provide love and endless support to others which should be done everyday and not just one day on Valentines day. And that's what I wish for you to experience countless and endless love, joy, support, compassion, and the kindness of others and for every blessing your heart truly desires to be fulfilled with the love, strength, kindness, support, and generosity from others. The earliest surviving Valentines is a 15th century rondeau written by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife, which commences "Je suis desja d'amour tanne Ma tres doulce Valentinee..."
You deserve all the love, happiness, generosity, kindness, compassion others can give along with the countless blessings life has to offer. Keep being a positive light and inspiration in this world. You've been through a lot of hardships and trials most of which you keep to yourself and people may not realize the full extent of your struggles, but in that journey you've gained the wisdom and knowledge which you've used to help others so they may benefit from your experiences and guidance. Your path was yours alone, which it still is, and in that time you've shown kindness and compassion empathy and strength and a love for others which surpasses those who didn't defining the true meaning of being a light in this world and a positive human being and an inspiration to others. And I hope this Valentines is a gentle reminder of all the goodness and support you gave to others and in return i hope the love, strength, support, compassion, kindness, generosity, and empathy that you've shown to others gets reciprocated back unto you. You've been an inspiration and a role model for so many and I hope this Valentines day fills your heart's every desire and may you be surrounded by positivity and by those who bring out the best in you those who bring you endless love, joy, and support, and who appreciate everything you've done for them. None of the above. My wife is Chinese and greeting cards mean nothing to her, so sending one is only wasted effort. But I celebrate Valentine's Day. She and I will have an early dinner with my brother and sister-in-law, then we will attend a symphony concert (the program includes the Romeo and Juliet Overture.) And, at some point, I will surprise her with the diamond earrings I have already bought for her and hidden away.

When I was a kid I used to send one to every person in the class, every neighbor and every member of my family. I'm still the person in church who manages the greeting cards for the local "old folks home" veteran's rec center and other shelters that our church serves. It's not particularly important work -- greeting cards don't solve problems -- but they can help change a person's mindset even for a few minutes.

No. I do not do anything for anyone else on Valentines Day 'cuz it's also MY Birthday! MINE! So, ALL must cater to my awesomeness! Besides, it wasn't even a Holiday 'til I was born!

Yeah, I actually like Valentine’s Day too even if I’m not in a relationship. I think it’s more about showing care than being coupled up. I like the idea of picking a Valentine, or even sending a few cards just to spread some kindness. You don’t need one special person for it to matter.

Honestly, I learned this tip from Jared Pysch Lawrence, he said Valentine’s Day is just a good excuse to make someone feel appreciated, and I really like that way of thinking. 💌

There was a woman at work that gave me a Valentines card. Really surprised me! Since she was single and about my age, I thought maybe she was into me. But when I said thank you, she just spread her arms out and said, just spreading the love. So I guess it meant nothing. That was the last time anyone gave me a Valentines card. A couple years later, she walked by me and said Happy Valentines day to me. Again I scratched my head. Strange Woman.
