Hi everyone,
I’m writing anonymously because this has been weighing on my mind constantly, and I’d love to hear especially a woman’s perspective.
I’ve been friends with a girl for about two years, and honestly I liked her almost from the very beginning. Recently, we went on a month-long trip together — a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Asia, including time on a breathtaking island. We spent almost every day together, sharing laughter, late-night talks, and unforgettable moments.
During the trip, my feelings grew stronger. There were so many times I wanted to tell her how I felt, but I was scared of ruining our friendship or making things awkward. I often felt that she might have wanted to say something too — but in the end, neither of us did.
Since we’re back, I’ve noticed something that makes me think she might feel a bit of “unfinished business” about the trip — maybe even some sadness that I didn’t tell her how I felt. I don’t want to assume or pressure her, but it feels important to acknowledge that this might be affecting her too.
I can’t stop thinking about her and deeply regret not being honest during the trip. Should I reach out now and finally confess my feelings, or is it better to leave it alone to protect our friendship?
How would you (especially women) feel about a confession after some time has passed? Sweet and genuine, or awkward and too late?
Thank you so much for any advice.
