I had a job once and there was a girl I liked. She was a manager and already in a relationship. I thought I could at least be her friend instead of pursuing a relationship because in my mind, a friendship and a relationship are two different things. She said no and I tried to respect that but immediately after, I wss told by my boss to back off.
I wss confused as I tried to understand why I was told to this when I already did. I didn't listen because I let my feelings get the better of me. One day she said she was fine with basic conversation but not "this" (hand movement gestures were made). I thought I was having basic conversation and I didn't know what "this" meant. I was told I'd be under watch if I stayed with the job and fill out a harassment form so I quit my job. To save my skin, sure, but also so she felt safe at her job.
I don't understand these things that seem basic to people like you (whoever is reading) because it's not to me.
Here's what I don't understand...
1. How is a friendship harassment when that is not the same as a relationship?
2. What does "this" mean?
3. If it's not okay to me to be friends with girls who are in relationships, why is it okay for other guys to be?
Please explain. I'm dense...
