    I guess it's up to the individuals involved but, by evolution or societal influence, I think most women want a man to lead and most men would feel humiliated being submissive to a woman.

    I've seen a relationship (former sister in law and brother in law) where she was sorta forced to lead because her husband was a screw up. It wasn't pretty. He was a nice guy but immature, directionless, and indecisive. In her defense, the guy was also a pathological liar. Harmless but annoying as hell. She had no respect for him and openly tore him up in front of family and friends. Can you say awkward boys and girls? It ended in divorce.

    On another note, I've had a super hot married woman literally openly chasing me for about 18 months. In front of her husband. She has literally told him to go away she's talking to me several times when he's tries to pull her away from my orbit. Why? He's the quintessential milquetoast guy. Very friendly but very timid and unassertive. A "nice guy". A people pleaser. He's got that mid 50's dad bod with a gut thing going on. Probably hasn't been in a gym in his life. She doesn't respect him and seems to resent him. I on the other hand probably seem a lot more masculine to her. Because of my military background. Because I have boundaries and don't put up with any of the shit she pulls on her husband. Because I challenge her constantly mentally. And because I'm an introvert, I give her very little information about me so, she's always wanting more. I'm also about 3-4 inches taller than her husband and fit with a lot more lean muscle. I don't think she's ever met a guy like me in her safe suburban existence.

    Just 2 examples from my personal experience. It doesn't mean there aren't guys and women who don't flip the script. It's definitely not the norm in my experience though.

      If a guy would feel humiliated being submissive, why would he expect a woman to be submissive.

      @MzAsh ,

      Oh c'mon you know the answer. Societal expectations and roles. Men are expected to display traits that are considered masculine such as confidence, strength, and decisiveness which women associate with safety and security. Men who are lacking in confidence, strength, and unable to make decisions are generally regarded by women as weak and unable to provide safety and security. That kills attraction for women and creates a dead bedroom.

      Men on the other hand don't consciously go around thinking "I want me a submissive female". But we are wired to respond to feminine traits like nurturing and caring, empathy and sensitivity, vulnerability. It triggers a protective response in men. Masculine traits in a woman will generally kill attraction for a man and also create a dead bedroom.

      You can like that or not, or pretend it isn't real but, for the most part men and women operate like that.

      @Gamer20282 ,

      So in your delusional mind you exist outside all societal influences. You stand alone. None of your culture has impacted your development as a child, adolescent, or young adult.

      You are truly a disaster when it comes to introspective thought.

      Like MAGA, you have done it all yourself. Good luck with that brain.

      It has affected me but I'm a grown adult now, I can use my brain to figure out what I have been taught as a child is good or not, and yes I do stand alone in society, I got a big cut when I was 15, no girl around me had one, not a lot of people supported, didn't mean I grew my hair out? Been 7 years with short hair,

      Sometimes u just need to learn how to say fuck off to society when u have smth u love, especially with a person who could make ur life wayy better. Stop looking for others validation and just see if u like urself in the mirror.

The shiity guys they were dating? I found way better and they statt being like how do u find better men, MABYE be urself and stop giving a fuck to others

    Most relationships are led by the female. We guys learned that a long time ago. Makes for a calmer, yet fun, relationship.

      Women are responsible for or at least influence 85% of consumer purchases. Guy's do put their food down at times, I know mine has but yes, most men let the woman lead. Happy wife, happy life 😊

    If that is what both partners prefer, great. I am more an equal type person when it comes to relationships.

  • My aim on GAG is to decode relationship dynamics so you don’t get lovebombed, ghosted, or stuck in boring roles.

    Female‑led relationships can be amazing if it’s natural for both, not forced. If she’s the planner, decision maker, more dominant emotionally or sexually, that’s totally fine. Red flag is when one person controls, not leads. Healthy leading = respect, teamwork, clear communication, shared power.

    I don't understand the question. The idea of a relationship is that you are both all in and build together. I don't understand how one can 'lead' or 'follow' and still be in a relationship.

    ... maybe my pathetic intellect is too tiny to understand the concept.

    That happens.

    It could be fine or not, depending on the members of the relationship.

    Do you mean women leading relationships? They are women, not 'females.' I think in a situation where there is a famous or powerful woman but sort of an average man, it would have to be that way.

    They can’t… they need to look up to the man to stay with the man.

      @Nikki1989 What is so funny about that? It’s common sense. Women have more options than men do, and if they feel at any time they can do better, they have the luxury of stepping out of the relationship. Think about it.

      If you start feeling like you’re superior to a man, you will not respect him like a guy that you feel is more capable and in a more masculine and dominant frame.

      Maybe you aren’t like that, or maybe you say you’re not like that so you can sound the most politically correct and be loved by everyone, casting the widest net for yourself, but that is largely the truth between men and women.
