I used to be a REALLY good dancer!! My aunt and the girl next door to her used to teach me all the latest dances when I'd come up here. The monkey, the funky chicken, walkin' the dog, the froog, the shingaling, the twist, the peppermint twist, the boogaloo, every dance they knew how to do, they'd teach me and I was great at all of them!!
A few years later, when I was about 12 or 14, I had my record player on the front porch because I was trying to work up a kind of routine to "I'll Be Back Upon My Feet" by The Monkees and was using the top of the front steps as my stage.
I was doing really well until this cute redhead I saw in school a time or two was walking by across the street and she stopped to watch me. Once I spotted her, I got very self-conscious and stopped dancing and never danced again. I doubt I ever saw her more than once or twice after that and maybe the last time was about 30 years later. She never talked to me, nor I, her but, she always had a sweet smile on her face anytime she saw me. I guess I'll never find out who she was.

I love to dance. I'm a decent dancer. I can be convincing so I'm sure I can get someone to join me even if they can't dance.

Not dancing is not a red flag by itself. Some people are shy, insecure, or just hate dancing. That doesn’t mean they don’t care. Red flag is when they mock you for dancing, refuse anything you enjoy, or make you feel bad for having fun. That’s the real issue, not the dance floor.

I have done and do but am no way a master. It's not a bad thing to recognise limitation and avoid putting oneself into situations
