Do any of you, miss "home"? Meaning, your country, your town, your state you grew up in? The place you moved from but no longer feel, is your's?

I miss my home town and state but feel it isn't mine anymore. Tell me if you have similar feelings.

I grew up in a small town in the south until I left for college, and I've been away since in big cities where I don't fit in in any way whatsoever. But my family is here, so I feel stuck or I'd be as alone as anyone could possibly be. I don't feel like a big city girl, and I don't feel like a small town southern girl anymore either. I have no idea what I am or where I could possibly fit in anymore.

I lived in Tampa until I was 16, then moved to Miami. Even though I did most of my growing up in Tampa, Miami is where I consider home. That's where I grew the most. Now, I'm making a new home. I miss Florida and do feel like it isn't my home anymore, because of how I've grown here. I get what you're saying, this is a special place to be from but you'll always be connected to it. ☺️

Missing “home” but feeling like it’s not yours anymore is emotional whiplash. It’s grief, nostalgia, and growth all mixed. I feel that about my hometown too. You outgrow the place, but not the memories. It’s normal, not a red flag. It just means you’ve changed, and home didn’t.

If I manage to move out, I wouldn't miss my so called "home"... I don't like my town, I don't like my "state" (county), and I don't like my country.
