1 moI believe in love because I’ve experienced it deeply twice.
I am not losing hope in love, both people I loved, made me feel loved even as we were going through the break up. I needed those experiences, they broke me free, but they healed my broken parts…
I feel grateful for the experiences I have had, and even the sadness of losing them - I see that as a luxury of having something that I cherished enough to grieve.
As they say the grief is the price we pay for love. I hope that I’ll be willing to risk paying it again.

I don’t think I lose hope in love itself… but I do lose hope in certain situations or people.
Love still feels real to me, but I’ve learned it only works when it’s mutual, intentional, and emotionally aware on both sides. So instead of losing hope I’ll say I’ve just become more selective about where I place it and who I give it to.

That's very wise.
1 moFor me love and fear are opposites like hot and cold. I dont lose hope in love. I understand fear and love are difficult aspects of the same thing. For example if I hate someone. I really love them so much they aggravate me but ill suffer that for them because I want to be around them even if it is suffering. That is selflessness and unconditional love made from what can be mistaken as "hate"
For me its not losing hope, its becoming aware my suffering isn't worth anything to them.10 Reply

1 moSure you know you'll probably be crushed like a bug... but maybe not...
And, anyway, do you have something you would rather be doing? Nothing else actually matters.
The only thing you will be proud of on your deathbed is the love you gave.

My aim on GAG is to decode love so you don’t lose your mind… or your heart 😏
You don’t really “lose” hope in love, you just get exhausted by the wrong people. Hope fades when patterns repeat: ghosting, mixed signals, breadcrumbing, constant disappointment.
But when you heal, set boundaries, and stop chasing red flags with pretty faces, hope quietly sneaks back in. It always does.10 Reply

I will give it a vague thought when I think I am ready for it but right now, my education has priority and it will have priority for the next 5 years or so. That takes up all my energy, attention and focus, so I am not even giving a remote thought about love.
Right now I am single and celibate and so far, it has served me well and love and all what goes with it is on the back burner (which is turned off). If love does not come to me, then it is not a tragedy. One can live perfectly well and happy without it as long as you have family love.

1 moI read your questions and wish I had some magick answer for you. I believe we are born to love but people start to believe they need someone specific to be "in love" with but we really don't. We can love for no other reason than we choose to love. 💖
20 ReplyI don’t think it disappears all at once, it’s more like it gets quiet sometimes.
In love, I don’t really “lose hope” permanently.
But I do reach moments where I step back, not because I don’t believe in it anymore, but because I need to protect my energy and reset what I accept as love.
Hope comes back when it’s real again when it’s not just feelings, but consistency, clarity, and peace.10 Reply- 1.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 moI sometimes lose hope but then again I have an online bud who is the same age and messages me everyday and we laugh and text for hours send each other memes, songs, do video calls and nudes.. We are both attracted to each other although its not love for us... but this distraction works for now..

1 moI do believe in love. I never loose hope because that would mean defeat. Love is out there for all of us, sometimes it comes quick and sometimes it comes later but it always comes and when it does its worth the wait. In the meantime I work on myself.
30 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Relationships topic. What do you mean by love? Intense just met passion? Or 'mature' love that endures and last till death do we part. Divorce rates rule the later out.
The first lasts about six months but it is achievable so you don't need to lose hope.

1 moMore like I just wised up. It's about reproduction not love. You're not in love you're horny. Once you realize that and let go of the whole thing you can just stop stressing over it. It isn't real.
