For me, it was my first real heartbreak in my early 20s. Full-body heartbreak, no appetite, songs were painful, felt like life was over.

If someone decides to leave you, it means they didn't value you, so why would you be upset losing someone who doesn't value you?

I think the harder part is just getting used to being alone again.

Having to leave my husband and my entire life and entirely family and take our 5 year old son to another state to get away before he figured out his dad had a drug problem he'd hidden from everyone his entire life, knowing the two of us would probably be totally alone and not knowing for how long... then a couple years later having to tell my son his dad died did it all over again.
