You can always love yourself till you find the right person or a good friend, and even then still love yourself. I think we take that for granted too often. You’re a person too, you should be your own cheerleader during times when no one else is there to support you… you owe it to yourself.

Yes, you can survive and even build a good life without romantic or deep personal love, but it will feel empty if you also lack connection, purpose, and self-worth. Romantic love isn’t the only form of love. You can live well by building self-love, passions, hobbies, community, and meaning.

But a life with zero emotional bonds at all? That usually leads to numbness, depression, and feeling like a ghost in your own story. We’re wired for connection. Even introverts like me need “their people”.

You don’t need a partner to live well. You do need some form of belonging, even if it’s tiny: a friend, an online community, a colleague, a neighbor. And most importantly, you need you on your own side. That’s the first love story. 💙
