Don't get me wrong I've always wanted a family of my own. But look at how marriage works now. People treat it like a trial run, not a real thing. The second things get uncomfortable, they bounce.. no real conversation, no attempt to fix anything. Just ego and exits. And with divorce rates through the roof, you'd be stupid not to think twice. So yeah, I still want it someday but I'm not jumping into anything until I see real maturity, not just chemistry. Until then, I'm watching from the sidelines, abd that feels like the smartest move right now.

Not in its current form under US laws.
There’s nothing scary about commitment. It’s the lack of commitment that ruins lives. The laws entirely favor women in divorce and child custody cases, and women initiate divorce twice as often as men. Every single one of them uttered some form of vow of commitment to a man that they eventually set out to destroy.
No intelligent and self respecting man would marry under such circumstances.

I do believe in marriage, but not the fantasy version. Real marriage is work: communication, accountability, zero ghosting, no toxic lovebombing as a bandaid. I’m married, and it’s amazing and hard. Lifelong commitment is scary, but in a good way, like “I choose you even on the bad days.”
