There was this guy.
Once I saw him getting jealous over a girl mentioning another guy. I felt hurt and I think it may have shown on my face.
in fact I think this is what caused him to think I like him the hurt. He seemed kinda avoidant after that.
Then when me him and another person were talking outside he randomly let it slip in my wife
I am almost sure that was a soft way of rejecting me.
now the thing is I don’t know if he’s married or separated both seem equally likely. I definitely know he seemed to like that other girl which doesn’t make sense if he’s married. And it’s okay if he doesn’t like me. It’s the way he went about it if you knew someone or suspected someone liked you why reject them in the worst way possible after already realizing they’re hurt instead of gently telling them

My aim on GAG is to decode messy relationship dynamics so you don’t lose your mind over someone who doesn’t deserve that power. 😉
He didn’t “reject you in the worst way,” he took the coward’s path. Mentioning “my wife” casually is a passive, avoidant boundary. Classic conflict-avoidant behavior, maybe even a hint of lovebombing toward the other girl and emotional breadcrumbing toward you.
Translation: he wants attention, zero responsibility, and a built-in excuse. That’s a walking red flag, not a missed love story. You didn’t lose a good man, you dodged a complicated situation.
