There's no such thing as "emotional cheating." Agree or disagree?

I keep seeing this terminology pop up on here. I'm just like... yeah, no.

Absolutely there is such a thing as emotional cheating.

When women are finished with a relationship, while still in a relationship, what they tend to do is make themselves emotionally available towards other men.

They might be with you in a relationship, but they actively seek out alternatives before ending said relationship. Which is something that often leads to what you personally would call cheating while still in the death throws of an existing relationship.

Such behaviour blindsides many men who who don't understand the nature of women.

Women are baseline emotional creatures. Men need to understand that fact. They're not rational when it comes to love and romance. A woman's relationship is almost entirely based on emotional experiences, what she feels, and is not primarily physical.

You as a man, taking a rational perspective on "cheating is sex", does not apply to women. She can be in a defined relationship with you while already having exited the relationship and is taken by another man.

I personally believe this is the main reason why women tend to rebound from relationships more quickly then a lot of men. Because for men, the relationship ended when words were spoken, but for the woman, the relationship ended when the emotions faded.

Main point being, and you can argue agaisnt it if you wish (I'd love to hear you take on this), women base their relationships on emotions and feelings. If this is true, then how can "emotional cheating" not be considered a thing.

I agree that technically it isn't cheating but I get what people want to say with it. I think it's just bad wording but I also don't know any better.

Not true at all. Giving your heart to someone else is as bad as giving your body to them.

If there was no kissing or sexual contact, then it's not cheating. Some women have accused men of "emotional cheating" for just friendship with a female person.
