Love is in essence... a projection of emotion.
That projection may not be aligned with reality of the other person, whom they really are. This probably goes wrong more often than it goes right.
There's a lot of ways humans can be incompatible.

Absolutely. Incompatability is the norm. Love is built on caring and respecting someone and supporting their growth... that doesn't mean they are someone you want to live with for the next 50 years.
