I was a bestman at my brother’s wedding and my brother and his wife really wanted the groomsmen and bridesmaids to join them during their first slow dance as husband and wife. I thought i was being a good bestman to my brother so i did what they asked. It was just a slow dance to one song. We were not dancing close compared to the bride/groom, It was just a quick dance. My hand was on her waist and her arm was on my shoulder and our chests/stomach were not even touching.
My Wife got mad about it and said i should have told my brother no. She also got mad that the bridesmaid put her arm around my arm when we walked out after the ceremony. I thought its a normal thing that happens at weddings. Im in a tough position because the wedding already happened and there is tension in our marriage. I felt i did nothing wrong and id be apologizing for nothing but at the same time, i want to hear her out. At this point is it just best to apologize and keep the peace so we can move on from this? Any thoughts/solutions on what I should have done better? Should i have told my brother no?
also, i would never go out of my way to dance with random women on my own. I only did this because my brother asked for this, and I wanted to be a good bestman.

Don't tell her to "grow up" or that she is "insecure", it will detach her from reality even more than she already is. Trying to willpower her way out of paranoia will only turn her into a cuckoldess. Paranoia will stay but she'll be trying to pump out endorphins and enjoy the idea of being hurt.
She needs to resolve whatever has erected this defense mechanism in the first place. ㅤ
There is a deeper issue here why your wife feels this way. This is normal for weddings and wedding parties. Eventually she had to tell you deep down why this bothered her. Her could be insecure.
She could be**
I don't see anything wrong with that.
she obviously knows nothing about the etiquette of social dancing
You didn’t do anything wrong, but maybe apologize anyway just to keep the peace
Your wife is insecure. There is nothing wrong with what you did.
tell her to grow up
Not an issue.
