My boyfriend wants space because he is grieving.

My boyfriend just lost his grandpa, and I tried consoling him but I didn't seem to be helping. So finally he said he needed his space. I know I am being selfish, but that kind of bothered me..I would like to be in his life right now. And how long of a time until I can call him? Or should I wait until he contacts me?

Believe it or not.. im going through the same exact thing and i know its hard on him and.. its been hard without him actually but of course i respect his wishes and i guess i'll give him all the time he needs because he's important to me..

Just make it clear that you're there for him if and when he needs you, and leave him alone to deal with it on his own. If you're pushy and intrusive it's just going to irritate him.

Wait for him to contact you.

You should wait until he contacts you for sure. Just give him the space he needs and he will come back to you when he is ready. Losing someone is really hard and takes a great toll on people.

Wait for him. Losing family is tragic but only the way ill-adjusted ones suffer that much. Nobody is getting out alive. Almost my entire family is dead. That doesn't mean you quit living.
