I don't know but it is pretty sick, I hate men like that.In my opinion, it doesn't make them look like a stud, it makes them look like a sleazy jerk, which is probably what the bloke is if he does something like that.I think that an older guy with a classy older woman is more of an ego boost, in other people's eyes anyway.What would make a 'mature' (well, their meant to be mature) older man want to hook up with a young girl.That's just a baby compared to an older guy.

My dad used to tell me how men in their 40s/50s were gentlemen, respectful & kind.Now, I constantly see men old enough to be my dad, or even my granddad, checking me out.I mean, what has society come to?It is now acceptable to ogle women who are 20/30 years younger.Ew.

Men HAVE changed, but older male - younger female relationships are nothing new, in fact for a lot of history, a significant age gap was probably normal.

im 20 and my guy is 41. I asked him this and his response was " older women have more baggage and younger women dont" I guess older guys get younger women because less baggage and younger girls get older guys because they are more secure than someone 20

No. Older guys go for women their daughters age (if daughter is in her 20s) in spite of the fact they have a daughter that age, not because of it.

Look, there's an ego component to 'who you can get' as a man, but women really overestimate how much it drives male behavior in comparison with sex drive. I see a lot of questions from women like this, or about whether virgins just want sex because of peer pressure, etc. YES there is a status thing for men getting hot women, YES virgins feel ashamed, but its rubbing salt in the wound that's already there. Men really, really, really want to have sex with attractive women.

I'll mention I know two single guys in their 40's who both happened to be dating girls in their 20's. They weren't proud of it, they were kind of embarrassed ... but they did it anyway, because they WANTED to. They KNOW people think 'uh, sleezy old guy'. They expect more disparaging remarks then praise. Its really NOT about status.

Do men only care about young attractive women? Obviously not, or no women over 40 would be able to remain married. Clearly, men care about a LOT of things. But if you want to know 'is the reason why men pursue young women for status' the answer is, 'no', the motivation is physical attraction.

No, clearly your going to appreciate beauty that you once would of pursued if you were younger.However there is a big difference between appreciating & leering or ogling.Guys who are above the age of 40 should know & have more respect for themselves.If you have an attractive older woman, then why should you want to ogle young women?Imagine how those girls feel.I feel sick when I see a 50 year old bloke ogling me as I walk down the street, how desperate.

I guess it depends what 'ogling' means. I don't know. Once you are an adult, I think people can hit on whoever they like. If I were single, I think I'd find it easier to date a 23 year old with kids then a 35 year old without kids. I'd have MORE in common with the younger woman, because our life experiences would be closer. As an adult, that matters more then age in some ways.

I have once seen 4 men in their mid 30s to 40s, sitting on a bench of a park drinkin their drinks. One of them had a girl who was 18-20 or something, and it just looked so wrong.

A 40 year old friend of mine once said, the reason he is looking for girls my age (26) is because they want someone who stil looks like a human being.

I prefer advent children, those are girls of my generation which is 1985. Girls too far away from that mark just makes me feel like my generation has left me behind. Does this count as aged based discrimination?

Yeah, I think it is. He's essentially recapturing his youth. He doesn't (or won't) think of it in terms of this girl is damaged or looking for a father figure. He'll think of it in terms of "I can still hang with the young folk, I'm still young at heart"
