No why would that be weird? Sometimes you just have a preference. I will give you an example. You already have a son and you want one of each gender. Of course you are going to root for a girl the second time because of that. That would be an example of wanting a daughter. Now why would that be strange at all? That is perfectly natural if that is what you were hoping for. Even if you don't use that example it isn't weird unless it is for... a weird reason. I personally can't think of a weird reason why someone would want a girl but hey I don't know... there are a lot of weird people in this world. Just look at some questions on the site and you can see it.

It’s not weird. Everyone wants a certain gender.
Now the only thing I would be concerned about is how a parent reacts to their baby’s gender. There’s been stories where parents become abusive because they didn’t get the gender they wanted.
