Desperately seeking a boyfriend?

okay so I've never had a boyfriend...ever. I've spent all of high school focused on school and now I'm ready to date. sad thing is, no one seems to like me, well black guys do (yet they don't ask me out either!) but I'm really attracted to white guys (not the pretty boy kind, goth, or wanna be thugs) I know the whole black girl with white guy thing is taboo but there's gotta be at least one interested, right? Well now about me, I'm Kenyan around 5,7 and I have an hourglass figure (not bordering on overweight) but I'm in track, I do Marching band oh and I'm also the shyest person in the world (which some might think of as snobby) but I guess my innocence intrigues people and I'm the kinda person people like to pick on (in a funny way though). Okay so basically I need some help on how to flirt and get a boyfriend. oh and also on how to talk to boys in general (like as friends)

To start off, I don't think you should rush finding a boyfriend. You don't want just anyone. It's totally okay to be picky. If you can't find anyone in HS, no worries. Go to college (there are way too many opportunities for scholarships and whatnot to not go). You will find that there are plenty of guys who don't care what color their girl is. And their friends don't care either. It's the 21st century, people are changing. Especially at the university level. I have 3 girl friends who are black who have white boyfriends. Granted, my college has about a 30:1 white to black ratio and only 35% of them are male... If you go to church, join a church that has a lot of diversity. That's always a safe place to start a friendship/relationship with a guy.

I'm not going to tell you how to flirt, because I think you should just be yourself. Or, if you really want, watch the people around you. How do other girls interact with boys? As for talking to boys in general, be casual. Talk to them like you would talk to a friend or someone you'd like to be friends with (minus all the super girlie stuff). They're just as human as you or me. ;)

okay thanks for the whole interracial dating tidbit, it makes me feel a whole lot better! and my human self is pretty awkward I just can't speak to them like their my (girl) friends but the church idea is brilliant it's definitely a great place to meet friends and find someone with good morals!

To talk to a guy just go up to them be nice and make them feel comftorble because if they feel awkward they might just walk away.

okay this weird my best friend just told me this today! I have the worst experiences with guys its like I can make anyone feel awkward, my problem is that I can't think anything good to say except for how are you liking the weather? (yeah I've gotten many awkward stares& answers)

I promise if you say hi what's up ? What did you do this Saturday ? You will start a conversation and guys like that a girl is confident when there talking ... It's easy try it on a guy friend or someone close that you don't like ...

I am in a similar situation as you - senior in high school, never had a boyfriend. Guys rarely talk to me. I think it is because of being shy. Shy people are harder and more intimidating to strike conversations with. I would work on bursting out of your shell a little bit. Start talking to some guys, or other people that you wouldn't normally speak to.
