Why am I the big spoon?

My boyfriend is 6'6" monster of a man and while I'm not small, I am a lot shorter coming it at just under 5'2".

Why does he always make me be the big spoon when we are sleeping? In what world does that make any logical sense?

Many people seem to be of the misconception that I dislike it. I get to be the little spoon sometimes and I don't really care that I have to be the big spoon. It just didn't make any logicl sense to me.

Size has nothing to do with it. Being held feels good even when you're the bigger person. It could also be related to comfort while sleeping. For example, I have trouble sleeping if I'm not facing the wall or if someone's hair is touching my face, or if my face is too close to another person (I feel suffocated). Because of this, I can't be the "big spoon" if we're going to sleep.

Anyway, talk to him and ask him if he wouldn't mind switching things up.

He probably just likes the feeling of being held, lol. Just tell him you'd like it if you could switch roles sometimes and get cuddled at night too. My boyfriend is the same. Sometimes he cuddles me, sometimes he wants me to hold him instead. We just happen to be closer in height, haha.

By just anyone? ;-) Why not ask him about it. Perhaps he just doesn't want his back to be cold. Maybe he likes sleeping on that side of his body and you two should just switch sides of the bed.
