Boyfriend bringing up marriage is he joking?

Over the last 3-4 weeks he has brought up marriage on a few occasions. The first time we were talking and he said my name out loud and then said Mrs Matthews would you like to be Mrs Matthews. Then he did the same a few weeks later. We were sat down for a meal a week ago and he said would you like to get married to me so I said you will have to ask me properly with a ring. Then about two days after this he said you would make a good wife. I can't tell if he is joking or not should I bring this up with him?

It seems positive, but I wonder the same thing, lol. My boyfriend tells me sometimes that 'if I don't watch out, I'm in serious danger of getting married'. =P That I'm about to be made the first 'Mrs. _____' haha. But at the same time, he hasn't even said he loves me yet. He tells me he likes me so much, I'm the best girlfriend he's ever had, this, that, but not those words. I'm about ready to say it, but I want him to be ready to say it first because he has more emotional baggage and things to get through before he can be there. I don't want to spring it on him before he's able to handle and accept it and return the sentiment comfortably.

So ask him already! Sit down at a quiet time, and say, hey! I would like to know about these things you've been saying to me lately.

Well, communication is always important in a relationship. If he's nutty to bring up this kind of stuff in the first month of a relationship, you probably should put the brakes on it real quick. I suggest sitting down and telling him that this talk about marriage makes you uncomfortable. If he says he was just joking, just tell him that he shouldn't joke about it because it can be taken in the wrong way. If this doesn't close that topic for a LONG time, then you might need to ditch MR. I'm in a hurry to get married...

Apologies I haven't explained myself! we have been dating for a year but he has been talking about marriage over the last month hahaha x

Well, if your not feeling marriage yet, then you need to sit down and talk to him that you need more time, that marriage isn't something that you want for a few years or however you think. If you don't want to think about marriage at all at this time, then just tell him. A guy likes to know exactly where he stands if he is talking about this.

Have you been dropping many hints that you want to get married to him? He may not be a romantic person, and doesn't understand your need to have him propose with a ring. He might have actually proposed, when you told him he needed a ring. You might need to drop some hints about how you want him to do it. A lot of women like looking at rings as they walk through the mall with their boyfriends. This way they can let the guy know what kind of ring to get, as well as that he needs to hurry up.

No I been hinting whatsoever! Thanks for the advice. I'm going to see if he brings it up again and then communicate that I too would like to get married and see if how he reacts.
