Coined by Shakespeare in Merchant of Venice:
"But love is blind and lovers cannot see/
The pretty follies that themselves commit"
I personally agree with the above context in that a lot of people are blind to their partner's faults and whatnot when they're "in love" with them.
But I've seen a lot of uses (today in particular) where people say that love is blind in a physical context - that if you fall in love with them you're blind to their physical faults. I think this is flawed because you are comfortable with their appearance BEFORE you fall in love with them most often.
