Why do women try to make guys jealous?

Why do women try to make their boyfriends jealous?

Generally speaking, a man who is jealous or insecure isn't attractive, so why try to turn him into that?

Is it because you feel like you don't have any control in the relationship or other areas of you life? Do you actually like to get your man upset because he rarely shows his emotions?

What's the logic behind these kind of mind games?

From my humble experience I concluded that you can never please a woman (forgive the generalization). I'm not the jealous nor the possessive type AT ALL, and my ex used to argue with me about this all the time, claiming that I don't love her and I don't care about her etc... That same girl broke up with her ex because he was up her ass all the time and tried to make her his own (according to her of course).

For centuries, societies have given women too much importance and attention. Everything they need/desire must be provided and everything they view as sweet must be done to them. They are allowed to judge every little thing about a man, while he isn't entirely allowed to criticize. They are full of misinformation and no one corrects them, due to sexual reasons. Again forgive the generalization.

This is not the case for all women of course, however, it is the public opinion. Note that I'm not hating on women nor praising men here, I'm merely stating some facts about today's societies and how it views females. link

They do it for validation. They want to feel like a lot of guys are into them and they want you to show them how much you care about them, by getting a little jealous.

I think they also do it because they feel like it will make them look more attractive in your eyes. A guy who is "in demand" is very attractive to women, just for the simple fact that other women want him. Especially if they are high quality women. So, she assumes that if other guys want her, that in itself, will make her more attractive to you.

I think they also do it because they want to feel your masculinity. It's very erotic for a woman when she feels that there is absolutely nothing that she can say or do that will bother you in the least. She wants to feel that nothing can disturb your cool, confident, loving emotional state. So they will do and say things that are insulting, annoying, etc. just so they can feel your strength.

"high quality women" made me laugh. It kind of sounds like escort services. Also, I disagree with the last part. Girls get even more pissed off when they don't get from guys the reaction they expect. I've yet to meet a girl who admires a man's indifference to her actions or words and takes it as strength.

Indiiference is not the reaction I was talking about. The reaction would be to reclaim your woman, so to speak, confidently, without feeling or showing any jealousy. When a woman tries to make a man jealous she's essentially testing his feelings for her. The way to handle it is not to pout, get angry, or be indifferent (as if he doesn't give a sh*t). The response should be to see it for what it is and handle the situation confidently and humorously.

The response would be to dump her manipulative ass. Girls who do these things on purpose also have a double standard. If their boyfriend would do the same they would flip out on him and they'd surely not take it as "a test of her feelings for him".

Most of the time women don't consciously test men, it just happens as a result of her wanting to feel his love and masculinity. It's usually not a planned out agenda, that would be manipulative. Double standards will always exist with men and women, and it's not exactly "fair" but fighting them or trying to eliminate them doesn't help. A realtionship where a man and woman treat each other exactly the same will have no sexual polarity and be pretty unfulfilling.

That's a kind of female I generally refer to as "girl". In order to hit the "woman" stage, one must be done playing doll games.

From my experience, girls who do that love the attention they get from both boyfriend and object of flirt. They like the idea of being the kind of girl guys would fight to have. They might also like to know they can twist a knife in a guy's heart if she ever feels like it, because Eureka!, he has feelings to be hurt.

On the other side, girls motivate this kind of behavior with "it shows you he cares". Are you showing him how much you care when you're flaunting your assets in front of his friends? You can't possibly expect a guy to dance to your song after you've disrespected him.

A relationship where one TRIES to make the other jealous is by all means unhealthy. If he gets jealous over a misunderstanding, that's cute, have your moment of glory, but don't torment the guy so that you'd feel better.

Jealousy is a sign that shows he cares about you and doesn't wanna lose you. If a girl makes a guy jealous it's because she wants him to show her he cares about her.

Is what I think. If I would make a guy jealous, it'll be because I want to show him other guys are interested in me too and if he wants me, he'd better make a move. If it were my boyfriend who I'd make jealous (but I never do that) it would be because I want him to show me he still cares about me and still loves me.

I don't do that because I don't like games. I think it's silly. There are better and more respectful/mature ways to get him to show how he feels about you. Like, ya know, communicating. =P

I sometimes like to have the upper hand.. ha ha so I do tend to dress up really hot when we go out to get other guys attention, but I never thought he'd get jealous. I thought it was more of an ego booster? ha ha so maybe he does get jealous, but those weren't my intentions. I just want to show him how lucky he is to have me. Wouldn't you feel lucky if your girl did that?

You don't want him to be the 24/7 jealous type. But if you can get him jealous sometimes. It just let's you know he cares about you.
