Sparkly shiny eyes when you're in love.

Some say that when you are in love your eyes sparkle. Is that to say that when you are in love you look radiant? Or do your eyes really sparkle / shine? I personally do believe that when two people are in love you can tell from their eyes, they do shine, and it’s not just a manner of speech. But I’ve heard different things from different people. What’s your take?
