Being infatuated and getting shiny eyes... does it really happen?

I went out with a bunch of friends, including someone who has a crush on me. When we were saying goodbye I saw him looking at me and I noticed that his eyes were literally shining in the dark. I swear he had like a twinkle in his eye. Have any of you ever noticed this? I mean, does it actually happen? I thought it was a joke when people say that when people are in love they get shiny eyes! Plus we're not even together, he just likes me.

One of my crushes had a glow to her and very shiny eyes. She looked angelic. Turns out she didn't see me in a romantic light. The key to this sign and any other sign is to see if it happens to other people or just you. If it's the latter then you're winning.

Er, shiny eyes usually result from too much alcohol. A sober guy won't look that way no matter how much he likes you.

whatever the reason was then it certainly wasn't alcohol because he didn't have any (I was with him the entire eveninng!) :)

Maybe just the reflection of the moonlight! In the movies they can produce this effect...but in real life, your eyes aren't shiny when you're sober!

I douby he would have been crying...and alcohol DOES make your eyes shiny, take a look at drunk people sometime. Not drunk to the point of passing out, just a little under the influence!

Well this one time I was looking in the mirror and my eyes were very shiny. But it was very bright in that room so that must be why.
