It's not love, but it is attachmet. You provide food, comfort, attention, and you clean his cage. Therefore, you are a pleasant thing to have around. You bring things that make him happy, and therefore, you make him happy. This isn't "falling in love", but you could call it a sort of love, if you want to. Many people feel that they have a sort of friendship with their pets, which can be a form of love.
And on a side note, he's not obsessive, but bored. Try playing some soft music in the background once in a while, leave a window open, etc. He needs something to do besides wait for you to get home. He calls for you, because he wants attention!

I don't think he's in love with you in the tradition sense. it sounds like he loves you like a baby loves its mother. This reminds me of something I learned in family studies class, we learned that babies less then(I believe) 12 months old cry when their mother leaves the room because they don't realize that their mother still exists... I think that's what's been happening.
LMAO! That's too funny. He probably loves you or has some sort of attachment to you.
Yes. I remember a time when this crow fell in love with me. She followed me around all day long. Brought me jewelry. She even invited me to lunch once. Too bad my parents never approved of our love. Now we're just Facebook friends.
Could you please message me with the name of your drug dealer so I can contact them in order to get whatever you are on. Thanks.

That's quite normal with most animals, I have a dog who when I go to college just goes nuts and will sit by the door crying for ages.
It's kind of a parent/child type of reaction, the cockatiel probably sees you as something akin to it's mother.Yes it is possible that the bird has feelings for you. Animals are very honest with there feelings unlike humans.
Probably attached to you because you are always close and you feed him and pay attention to him. Kind of like a baby and its mother
Attached? Yes. Love? Probably not. According to my psychology class, animals do not feel love.
yeah probably lol. Animals can get really attached to their owners
I imagine so. Birds aren't known to be heartless.
Fry him up.
