Why is my boyfriend so shy/afraid to kiss me?

Well.. we aren't planning on doing a full kiss, but my best friends recently started dating, and they want to kiss but won't do it until me and my boyfriend do it. But he's shy to do it, he's kissed a girl before though. Today, he had tape over his mouth so I kissed that. They say the more you like someone, the more nervous you are of kissing them? We're doing really good so far, we hold hands, cuddle, that typical couple stuff. But I don't want him to be so shy, anything to help me not make him so shy and help him relax? Thanks

You're right. He's shy. I was like that when I was an early teenager. One time I was holding hands and cuddling with a girl, but was too afraid to make the move to kiss her. I wanted to, but I was holding back. And somehow she KNEW that. She just turned and faced me, held my face between her two hands and kissed me. Wow! The ice was broken and it was awesome.

In all seriousness, clearly he's inexperienced, so don't force him into something he's not comfortable with. He's probably afraid that you're not gonna like how he kisses. That's my guess.

He probably just doesn't want to mess things up. No matter how many times you've kissed someone, I think everyone gets nervous kissing someone new (that they like).

Give him time, don't force him. Let him know that you like him for him (assuming you do), and you're nervous about kissing, too, but you're more excited than anything.

If he is shy make the first move. He prob likes you so much he is nervous that he will do it wrong or something. Go for it make your move give him a nice soft kiss first see how he reacts let him knw you wanna kiss him.

just tell him whenever he's ready he can do it. don't pressure him because that will make him more nervous
