I am turning 30 next week. I am newly engaged as of July. We are each other's very first serious relationship. We met on New Years Eve on December 31, 2023. Like me, she also has a birthday this month. She will turn 27.

I most certainly love her, although I wish we could have met when we were both younger or had some connection in our youth of some sorts. I am her very first kiss after all, but a part of me feels sad that we missed that youth component with each other.

She had minimal dating experience in high school, but obviously it wasn't anything significant considering I am her first kiss.

I feel like overall, I will have that lingering regret of not experiencing young love/romance when I was younger.

My current partner told me in the past she was very interested in being mother, and eventually starting a treatment to do so.

But what I didn't expected is that she was about to come home today, and tell me that she had just started it without mentioning me nothing prior to that.

This came after having an argument the last day, where I told her I had doubts about the relationship due to certain behaviors of her making me uncomfortable frequently.

But the argument ended being solved. Or at least, that's what I thought.

But today she came home, showed good behavior, complimented me, and then BOOM! Dropped a surprise.

The point is: I greatly suspect this is a manipulation tactic to hurry me up, and not looking into the relationship objectively.

What do you think?

Do you wait until you feel that you are in love with your partner to suggest that you two date exclusively (NOT asking about living together)? Can you enter an exclusive relationship without already being in love? Is being in love not the only thing that needs to happen before you agree to date exclusively? Or is there no relationship between these two ideas at all?

On several occasions, I have begun dating a lady exclusively after three or four dates, when I certainly was not in love with her and we had not yet had sex, but I did feel some affection as well as physical attraction.

I know you've seen many questions on this site asking about your BODY count. So many people think that the most important number is how many partners you've given your naked body. That's important, to some extent, but how many partners have you given your heart? How many times have you been in love?

I've been in love 8 times in 53 years of relationships and marriage. The level of mutual commitment in some of the early relationships did not compare to my later relationships, but the feelings were there and the loss of each of those relationships had a very significant impact on me. One of those relationships lasted 17 years and each of the others lasted at least a year.

Every relationship I have ever had ends up sucking. I end up hating the person. Is that about them or me? On one hand, they suck. On the other hand, I pick them.

I'm a libra and my girlfriend is a capricorn, I'd say we worked out well together for a very long time in my book, especially since we been going on 4 years together, with no terrible arguments with eachother. Even have goals to stay together for a much longer time
