How is that worse? Not that I think you can actually "cheat" on your partner with AI, because AI technically doesn't have real feelings of its own like a real person does, and AI bots that are designed to flirt back and respond positively to flirty and/or sexual responses are simply coded to respond that way.

That being said, you shouldn't even resort to using AI to sex chat anyways (unless you're single and desperate and/or craving intimacy), because it's not like it's gonna go anywhere other than getting you off for a while. If you have a real live partner right there in front of you who you can actually have sex with at will and have an actual, physical, intimate connection with, because nothing can substitute a real human connection.

The most I would call this is disrespectful and frankly, just stupid if you think sexting an AI is better than having actual physical intimate moments.

I asked basically this same questions a year or so ago , although my AI may have been called the latest Robot ( same thing ) and I was a little confused that general consensus was its AI , join in , but I was thinking its going to be programed to be a better lover than me ( not matter how good I may be ) , so its a little perplexing , so we really just don't know how good these AI will be , I'm not answering the question , but I'd love to try a AI that I had programmed...

I do wonder about satisfaction over the longer term? But wholly sht , now I'm sure it will happen , interesting times.

I think in our case my answer would be the same as the use of pxrn by my partner. If I’m okay with him using media or sexting with other people, then I’d probably be okay with him indulging in ai fantasies, and such. It can all be grouped together, really.

That’s so dystopian but it could and will happen to many people. The worst part is how realistic will it be, not in 10 years but now and much more in one or two years. I can see that becoming a common thing. How would I react? I’d be shocked by being with a person who’d consider that or I’d be shocked on how bad I screwed up so my partner made that decision.

I think the idea of an AI partner is in the same vein as having an online roleplay partner being cheating. While the person has no intention to ever really meet or actually have sex with this other person, a virtual relationship is constructed that can make people insecure. And that’s more to do with how seriously one takes the influence of virtual reality in comparison to the individual’s reality.

I think I would be shocked too. Strong communication and empathy are key. If I felt betrayed, I would have a serious conversation. After all, when trust is broken, it is hard to repair a relationship. But remember, everyone has different boundaries.

It rather depends what form of ai was involved. I find it likely that ai avatars will become popular either textual chat or graphical but it depends how I'm depth and complexed they become and how a partner would engage with it emotionally.
I suspect some will become emotionally engaged and it's likely some will become fanatical.
But whether/how any or all of this becomes romantic and infringed on long term relationships well have to see.
Maybe blade runner 2049 had it about right.

If they were just chatting out of curiosity / horniness / boredom or whatever on & off however not really a full on thing / going from bot to bot instead of staying with one… I know that is better than having your body destroyed or putting your seed into another garden because that is an actual betrayal.

When it becomes the point of hiding what you're doing to just sext an AI instead of talking to your partner about unmet needs or leaving if values/needs aren't lining up, I see it as emotionally investing yourself into someone/something else, checking out of the relationship, and leaving your partner hurt, confused, and in the dark. This isn't fair to the partner being hurt in the situation, if you depend on ai for your romantic needs and your partner isn't okay with it to the point you feel the need to hide this & neglect them then you need to just break the relationship off and let your partner go.
