Teachings We Should Learn From Other Religions

There are many advantages of being atheist. Like you don't need to pray 4 times a day, you don't have to donate money to holy places like Church, Temple etc; You can do anything you want because you don't fear god. But what about Morals?

Many people complain that "Atheists lack Moral Values". I find it true because religious people fear the God and don't do immortal things like drinking, Sex before marriage (When I say religious, I don't mean all theist). I know that many wars were fought in the past in the name of religion but that religion consider it as MORAL. Like Islam orders you to kill who don't believe in Allah, Bible says kill the gays and list goes on. We call Hinduism as Sanatan religion but there is violence in Hinduism too.

I'm writing down an advantage for atheists but Religious people can follow them too.

Coming back to Atheists, you can follow whatever you want. So why not to follow multiple things?
You don't need to be a theist to follow particular things from all religions. You can combine all of them and create a set of your very own moral values! I'm listing down my favorite things from the major 3 religions which can help you to create your set.

1. Christianity

a) Concept of forgiveness: All religions prior to Christianity have the concept of a vengeful god. But Christianity tends to forgive. That's what we need to learn from it. WE SHOULD FORGIVE PEOPLE INSTED OF BECOMING ANTAGONISTIC.

b) Do Not worry about tomorrow: (Matthew 6:34) Many people keep worrying about tomorrow and ruin today. We should not do that.

c) Turn the other cheek, Love your enemy: (Luke 6:29 )" If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other side also". That's what Mahatma Gandhi told us. If we keep slapping back, the fight will never end.

2. Islam

a) Don't Backbite: {4:148} Allah does not love the public utterance of hurtful speech unless by one to whom injustice has been done. Atheists don't care what Allah loves but Backbiting is bad.

b) Benefit others: { 16:90} Surely Allah enjoys the doing of justice and the doing of good (to others) and the giving to kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion. That's what we join personality development classes for. Helping others will benefit ourselves in the future.

c) Fair trade: {17:35} And give full measure when you measure out, and weigh with a true balance.

3. Hinduism

a) Karma: It is the effect of past actions on present circumstances. Believe me, karma exists.

b) Dharma: All humans are born with certain duties. These duties are age specific. Child's dharma is to respect parents, Parent's Dharma is to protect, feed, educate, and shelter their child.

c) Yamas: It refers to yoga. we should exercise to stay healthy.

That's all for now. I did plan to write about 6 major religions but MyTake is getting bigger.

What I want to say is:

Live your life with freedom but with certain rules. We Want a Better Society TO Live In.

Also Religious people can/should follow these too for betterment of our society.

sure if we completely tear apart all the shit that's bad from them ignore all the spiritual bullshit. ignore all the blood shed that was causes SOLEY DUE to religion many many times. ignore the fact that the Abrahamic faiths besides Judaism and Zoroastrianism, have been in clear opposition to scientific and social progress and killed and burned those who did speak the truth. ignore the fact that the most faithful Christians still can't follow their own fucking book properly. then sure maybe if we cheery pick it more than its followers due we can pull one or two grains of decent worth out of them.

allow me to be blunt the only Religions worth keeping are the eastern faiths while they do shed blood on occasion not clearly as much nor go around trying to convert. most of them don't cherry pick as there is no need to. and actually, hold good ideals.

Judaism is a shit religion I just like its followers as they don't even truly follow that shit anymore except the Zionists.

Christianity while Jesus had some good points his followers are dog shit

I don't agree with the whole "Christians are supposed to kill gays" thing, because the part of scripture where such is written is in the Old Testament, but the entirety of sacrificing ended by the end of the Old Testament, because Jesus was the final Lamb of God. He died for the benefit of the people. The bible takes place over thousands of years, so you kind of have to remember that each writing takes place over a certain period of time, and that just like in more recent history, wars took place, rulers ruled, etc.

But throughout the ancient times where Christianity was imposed, they did execute homosexuals, witchcraft etc.. You just need to look at Europe during the medieval period. During that time, they didn't ignore the Old Testament like what the Christians are doing today that's because Christianity was evolved because of the Age of Enlightenment starting from 17th century, they used their own reasoning rather than looking at the Bible blindly.

Your opinion states "One needs religion in order to be moral", which I find a logical fallacy. The thinking is that religious people don't do certain things because they fear God. They don't murder only because God tells them not to. By extension, if one day God said it was okay to murder, they would do so.

An atheist, on the other hand, doesn't murder because they know it's wrong. Basically infringing on anyone's autonomy is morally wrong. Or treating others how he or she would like to be treated.

It's so funny to me how religious people think atheists automatically do whatever the hell they want because they don't have some invisible being telling them what to do. They just do what's right because it's the right thing to do.

I argue that empathy is not universally shared. I think too many people overestimate empathy. There are people who simply cannot empathize, and it's a serious neurological pathology called psychopathy. Usually, the best treatment for these kinds of people is prison. Of course, a psychopath is on the extreme end of the empathy spectrum. People rationalize all they want that morality is absolute because empathy is universally shared, but that assumes that empathy is universally shared. It is extremely difficult to be empathetic when you have no experience with a specific situation.

Never underestimate the power of diet and nutrition. Many physicians are not trained in nutrition and preventative medicine. Also, different people react differently under different treatments or diet plan. So, a personalized approach to medicine is often the best way to go.

Holistic medicine is not the same thing as alternative medicine. It is just medicine that views the person as a whole instead of examining an illness and attempting to fix it with a drug. A drug is not going to work, if the underlying problem is not corrected.

As an Atheist, I agree with most of these things. The only part which I refuse is the "do not worry about tomorrow". I think of the long therms consequences, and strongly believe that is better to suffer a bit today than a lot in the future.
