Hello :) I wrote a Mytake answering a few questions on Islam from my question here. This is Part 2.

What option do we have if we face abuse?

We have rights to be there for each other, and we should be able to speak with the people close to us. but now days in some places this is not possible.

How do we live in a Burka?

Well it is very easy, because we respect ourselves and our husbands if we are married.

And not all wear that, Hijab is the main thing.

Why are Muslims not allowed to use condoms?

Well because, it is not the natural cycle if a man and a woman get married. They are able and should have sex to conceive a baby, not just for sexual pleasure.

Why are women given less rights, and no sexual freedom?

Well we do have rights, but within limits, the same as men. As us women can easily turn away from our faith.

Why is incest between close relatives allowed?

It actually is not allowed.

Why can't a woman prevent her husband from getting remarried or get divorced as her choice?

She most certainly can, she can make it known in her Nikah Contract. Also men should not take any lies from a woman, but she also can get a divorce in some cases.

Why the h*ll are "they" (meaning us muslim women) getting brainwashed?

We are not being brainwashed, we have a belief and so do you. I think I have a right for believing what I believe.

Why is having a wife or slave at young ages allowed?

First of all, slaves are not allowed. Marriage is allowed at puberty, but by the Quran she has to consent to that specific marriage.

What is Nikah halala? Why people still do this?

Because of bad influence. This is a practice where a man gets remarried with his Ex Wife as they can remarry. And the woman has to be married again. Nikah Halala is haram in Islam.

1. Us Women have the same rights but in a different way than men.
As Women have rights to do things. Because the mind of a Woman is so complex,
we need to be protected so we have limits but in a different way of Men that,
are supposed to make decisions but women have the right to (dis) agree.
So that is equal but in a different way.
That is only one example. many others also.

2. The punishment is for God to decide but basically Hell in our terms if they don't Repent.
Here we are not allowed to kill them. All we need to do is to not be friends with disbelievers.
As it can cause a problem with our Imaan (Faith or Belief)

3. Now, there is a difference in the times of the Quran, Bible and Now.
Both the Bible and Quran speak about slaves which was different than you think because
now it is called a job. Slavery was a contract.

4. A 12 year old back then vs a 12 year old now are in different surroundings
It all depends on Maturity, but these days very rare in USA and UK and many others

Also personally I believe the age difference is okay if the Girl/Woman is reached Puberty and consents to that specific marriage. And Sex isn't always the reason for marriage but if they are married they have a right. But yes the wife would have to consent to sex also.

Slaves were allowed at that time when it was allowed in all religions.
And prophet Mohammad took slaves off the market and married them.
Some where given as gift for peace treaty from Rome and few other states or empires.
He had no choice in that,

Interesting take.
I think the one who asked "How do we live in a Burka?" actually meant the possibility of overheating.

Personally, I'm interested in the question what you would do if you know someone is about to be forced into marriage with a distant cousin? Do you just pray that he'll be a good husband to her or will you take (legal) action to save her from her fate?

Marrying your cousin, niece or uncle is called incest.
From a biological point of view it becomes clear that first cousin marriage is not recommended because close relatives have a higher than normal consanguinity which means an increased chance of sharing genes for recessive traits. With this high amount of shared DNA, you have a higher risk of birth defects in a baby. Even if cousin marriages are not performed, you can still have such genetic defects in populations where there is a restricted social structure.
In Pakistan, where there has been cousin marriage for generations, and according to professor Anne-Marie Nybo Andersen from South Danish University, the current rate is 70%, one study estimated infant mortality at 12.7 percent for married double first cousins, 7.9 percent for first cousins, 9.2 percent for first cousins once removed/double second cousins, 6.9 percent for second cousins, and 5.1 percent among non-consanguineous progeny. Among double first cousin progeny, 41.2 percent of pre-reproductive deaths were associated with the expression of detrimental recessive genes, with equivalent values of 26.0, 14.9, and 8.1 percent for first cousins, first cousins once removed/double second cousins, and second cousins respectively.
A BBC report discussed Pakistanis in the United Kingdom, 55% of whom marry a first cousin. Given the high rate of such marriages, many children come from repeat generations of first-cousin marriages. The report states that these children are 13 times more likely than the general population to produce children with genetic disorders, and one in ten children of first-cousin marriages in Birmingham either dies in infancy or develops a serious disability.
The BBC also states that Pakistani-Britons, who account for some 3% of all births in the UK, produce "just under a third" of all British children with genetic illnesses. Published studies show that mean perinatal mortality in the Pakistani community of 15.7 per thousand significantly exceeds that in the indigenous population and all other ethnic groups in Britain. Congenital anomalies account for 41 percent of all British Pakistani infant deaths.
Worldwide, it has been estimated that almost half of all Muslims are inbred:
A rough estimate shows that close to half of all Muslims in the world are inbred: In Pakistan, 70 percent of all marriages are between first cousins (so-called "consanguinity") and in Turkey the amount is between 25-30 percent.

If your faith is so fragile that it is threatened by a word or phrase or the mere presence of a person of a different faith, did you really have any faith at all? If your religion is the truth and you are sure of this then why would a friend of yours who disagrees matter? It sounds as if you have doubts about Islam. It sounds like you have very little faith. If you had immense faith why not test it? Why not have a non-muslim friend? Why not ideologically debate them? Lack of faith?

What do you think of Sharia law?

Instead of wearing the Burka/Hijab why don't you just wear normal clothing but that is extra long, perhaps a bigger size, wear a hoodie with a hood and perhaps a hat. It'd look weird especially during the summer but it'd be a lot less suspicious and more American than a Burka/Hijab.

It also says that you're 14 and engaged. As a 14 year old you aren't expected to know everything but a person who is 14 should at least be able to tell that rationally being 14 and engaged to someone already probably will not turn out well. Hence why it's 18 in this country to marry. Again, while you are 14 you must take into the consideration the probability of this engagement being an error is really high. If Islam didn't heavily endorse pedophilia I would have not brought this up.

You say incest is not allowed. Some western countries counts two cousins having sex as incest. But I think in most countries this is not viewed incest.

You say slaves aren't allowed. Yes it is allowed actually, go and check the sources in the Quran and Hadiths. But it isn't European style slavery.

General rule is you can marry once you've reached the age of puberty. But there is an exception for those who reach puberty at an abnormally young age, they are not permitted to get married.

For a specific age you would need to look at a specific ruling relating to marriage as there's difference of opinion amongst scholars and schools of jurisprudence.

Yes, in theory. Which may sound odd to someone who has adopted a secular post colonial perspective on the institution of marriage.
When it comes to marriage within the context of Islam there are a number of factors to consider, the well being of the couple being one and especially the protection of the bride. Marriage is something sacred and a number of criteria must and should be met before a couple are married. Child marriages would not be allowed and also someone can not be married against their will.

Remember that Islam is a religion for all people, not everyone lives like westerners and get married in their 20's and 30's.
Many communities within parts of Asia and Africa still marry at a young age and it's considered normal.

Thanks for your insight. But this has changed my view in a negative way of Islam and Muslims. It's a classic sign of grooming. Manipulating people into accepting paedophilia. This is why I'd never marry a Muslim. Or become a Muslim woman. I used to like the Islam faith. The values and traditions of Islam.

Not everyone that finds paedophilia unacceptable and abhorrent is westernized. Individual paedophiles and paedophiles rings will be drawn to Islam, because it's widely accepted within the religion. Getting married at a young age is not the same as paedophilia.

Other Muslims themselves are saying adults can marry children. An adult man can marry a girl as young as 9 years old. Even the asker said yes, when I asked. Children as young as 11 and 12 are marrying Muslim men. I've never read a case or seen a case yet of a Muslim woman marrying an a child. It seems to always be the men who marry children

I think you're mixing up child marriage with marrying young. You can marry at a young age (assuming you've reached maturity) but you can not marry as a child. There is a big difference. Like I said, a child cannot take on adult responsibilities and marriage is a huge responsibility in Islam.

Historically and even to this day, young girls married older men. Older men had more wealth and access to resources. This is not a new phenomena and it is not limited to the Muslim community. However Islam restricts who you can marry, you can not marry if you are prepubescent or against your will.

Because it's just the skin we are born in. It's natural, besides people by law are not allowed to walk naked and if someone is truly dressed inappropriate I'm sure you could report that. It's unnatural to cover yourself up unless you live in the dessert or it's freezing cold. That makes sense, to protect you from weather.

Women wearing a hijab can still get raped. Even by their partner, knowing that most rapes happen with someone she knows. A piece of clothing won't protect you if you feel that unsafe, women get raped or assualted regardless of their clothing. But perhaps you are too young to understand that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my Muslim friends told me that Muslims should not stand out and adapt to their surroundings in a modest way. Meaning in a western culture covering yourself up completely is against Islam as you are standing out, making others uncomfortable not beeing able to see your face, not knowing your intentions

Not acknowledging someone's presence is not acknowledging their existence especially when you have to interact in some way that is incredibly rude. You are extreme because you cover your face., Your identity. I have no issues with Islam or religion, but I dont understand western women or women in general willingly wearing those things. So many Islamic girls have fought in the middle east not to have to wear these and a lot still do. So many are being opressed, abused and discrimanted against as a woman they are seen as different and by Western standard as less.

Yes, sorry, my text flew. :) I'm asking is natural always seen as good? For example, christian teachings about it is confusing. They claim nature is good, but fallen with the man. Then they contradict themselves saying homosexuality isn't natural because it's "bad". But when you think about it - death is (natural). Chemotherapy isn't natural, cancer is. Etc. Well Homosexuality is not natural.
and yes Cancer is considered Natural but it's not a choice. so it is not good.
So no not everything natural is good.
but if you actually understand how the sickness like cancer was caused you'd know it is not natural.
So in that sense yes Everything that is natural is good.
