Why your life has a Purpose - Bible Talk

In the parable of the talents and the parable of the minas, the ones who grew tremendously were awarded and the one who refused to grow was punished, and the way I interpret that verse is, if you are not able to do great things with your life, than you should do the things you are capable of doing.

Jesus worked as a carpenter when he was on earth to show us that our service to God was an honour in itself and we do not need an accolade of attention and praise or money and Responsibility or impact and societal philanthropy for our hard work and sacrifice to be seen as honourable and meritorious to God. Janitors and factory workers are just as worthy and valuable as Olympic athletes and billionaire celebrities the gift of work comes from God, it is just as essential to life as life itself, and equally beautiful and worthy.

I always thought of that bible verse as God gives us things in life for us to use to glorify him. If we were not "afraid" of going out there to do something with it, then God will bless us with more. Those who are too "afraid" to go do something with it, and just hide it then they will be facing God's wrath.

I would compare this to like our skills. There are those who just sit around and they do not go out to use their skills to help others.

Then there are those who are like George Washington Carver (my son is learning about him in school), who actually goes out to try to get into college and learn more about improving farm life. He used his life to bless those around him. He did something with himself.

BUT you could also use this parable to think about money as well. Don't just do something foolish with the money that GOD gave you in this life. You have to do something wise with it and double it and give it BACK TO GOD.

I really like DAVE RAMSEY for this money management and I think people have been blessed by Dave. If you pay off all your debt and then you start to save and invest you will make money and be able to GIVE money back to God. This will make God so HAPPY that you give to glorify God (by giving to churches who use it to help the poor, widowed and to spread the word of God to the world).

But does any thing realty have a purpose. You argue that people all be valued equally and to that i agree to some level. However on the topic of purpose i say nothing has a purpose. When i refers to things i am talking about physical objects (paintings screwdrivers people), basically anything you touch. The only i argue can have porpose it actions started by living beings. A painting doesn't have porpose but making a painting dose or even looking at one. The purpose of gaining pleasure. Screwdrivers don't have purpose but me use a screwdriver dose which is completely a task.

I'm Agnostic but I am very sympathetic to Christians and their beliefs. There is much wisdom in the scriptures, even for people who aren't sure.
