What God taught me in my dream

I had a dream I saw a very inconsiderate guy walking around with a gorgeous and skinnier version of me and I asked him if he had been walking around with a slim Chinese girl and his response was “No, but when you consider my interests I will consider yours.”

I realize now, almost 10 years later or more, what the dream means, God is telling me that when I consider things from other people’s perspectives, that God will do what is in my best interest. Like when I first started University at age 18, I was not a gold digger at all, but all the guys I liked were filthy rich, I did not worry about popularity at all, but all my friends looked like super models, and I got rejected by the poor guy I liked while all these rich guys I did not like were trying to date me, God was looking out for my interests.

Like today, we had a barbecue planned and the guests are now almost 20 minutes late, and I realized, instead of worrying about how we are wasting time waiting for them, I can think of things from their perspective, how they may be stuck in traffic, waiting in line to buy dessert as a token of appreciation when they visit us or maybe had forgotten something crucial on their way out the door and had to make a detour back home to grab items. I notice, our family is often late when we are stuck in traffic or make a wrong turn, so it’s perfectly understandable that others might also be late etc…

So that is what I learned from God this week and I believe this can help me cope when people disappointment me or fail to meet my expectations.
