Years ago, God told me I would achieve extreme greatness if I avoided two bad habits and ways of thinking.
I now know the two bad habits are slothfulness and material greed.
I realized this year, that as long as I do God’s will, I need not worry about my life, from a financial perspective, I will always have money, affordable health care, clean and secure places to live, tasty low calorie food, and social helpers when I’m in need, like my dad who drives me to medical appointments because my weak hand eye coordination makes me a poor driver on the road.
I also realized, I can rely on God to give me money, when I am willing to work, but only if I do not abuse my material blessings. Like if I use my money to buy things for my parents or gifts for my relatives, God will allow me to become rich, but if I spend my money on Gucci bags or ice wine while mocking homeless people on the street, I might lose what I have.
