My theory on the origins and causes of evil

I think God wants us to know how good His love and beauty is, so he allows evil to temporarily claim isolated parts of the world so that we can understand that God is mighty enough to cause insurmountable harm but creates insurmountable love instead - Evil exists to show us that Good is Good because if we never knew evil, we might not fully understand God’s goodness, since we would have nothing to use as a measuring label for his great and awesome moral virtues.

It's seems as though one extreme cannot exist without the other. It's this balance that allows us to experience our reality and be aware of it consciously. Even though space would appear to be more darkness than light the brightness and intensity of the light offsets the difference. A creator would have to create based on the same laws for that balance to exist. Life death good bad light dark.

It would be great if evil only claimed some minimum number of isolated places for just long enough to show us what good and evil are. That's not the world we live in. Try telling a Holocaust survivor that God has always kept evil to a pedagogical minimum.

I would say evil has always existed even before God created the world but evil had nothing to attack until creation happened
