I totally agree, i think it’s wrong for people to be taught this stuff when they’re still young and impressionable. They would be much more objective in their decision as an adult.
Then why are LGBTQ forced on kids. I mean I’ve seen kids in Toronto dancing with half naked or naked people at gay pride parades in June strolling down Yonge street in Toronto. The world accepts that and I think that’s messed. You may clap back at my comment but eh an eye for an eye. If people say religion shouldn’t be forced on kids, same goes for gender sexual views. If someone responds to this by saying “this question isn’t about LGBTQ views, its religion”. Well, there are Muslim parents, Jewish parents, Christian parents and etc that don’t want their kids to be forced to learn those views in school.
@ObscuredBeyond no i have not. confused that. christians always find ways to twist and turn every contradictory thing in the bible by adding thoughts and interpretations that are not written black and white in the bible in a desparate struggle to still have it make sense in their mind. that's the delusion techniques i was talking about won't be teachable to an "adult critical mind". you can only be indoctrinated with that as a child and then it's terribly hard to ever leave that behind.
if you need an "interpreter" to make sense of the contradiction, then the bible is nothing but opinion of the interpreter. not "the unmistakable word of god". if the bible was the word of god, god failed horrible at communicating efficiently and precisely. which is just one of the many strong indicators, that the bible can not possibly be "the word of a devine and omniscient being". of course you will again make excuses like "oh but human thoughts and language are just not capable". bullshit. there's a reason for the entire field of "appologetics" to exist. and that reason is tha the christian doctrin can not possibly make sense without adding outside thoughts.
So first you gloat that you're into critical thought. But what you mean is dismissive thought. Then, when you run into something you don't understand, rather than allow scripture to interpret scripture to get the full context, rather than engage in... actual critical thought... you default to prejudice.
Seems you just want to imagine that you're in control, when you're really not. And so you have pigheadedly determined not to believe, and you don't care what reason exists why you should reconsider.
@ObscuredBeyond no, the contradictions come from the fact that the individual books of the bible were written by different people with different personal agendas and opinions. i know i am dismissive. that's how i deal with bullshit. cause i AM in control of what i accept as true and what not. i undrstand some people like letting go of that control cause it comes with responsibility and personal accopuntability. you have to stand for what you think is right and good with your name and your persona. you can't just say "oh but that book says so, so don't blame me".
i have the control "not to believe" a thing that someone claims without any evidence. and a book full of written down legends by different authors is not evidence. you are of course free to choose to believe things that are not evidently true or that are evidently false and call me "pigheaded" for not doing that, everyone has a right to believe what they want. i believe in the truth. not in delusional doctrins. i understand it is difficult to find truth. butfollowing a cult doesn't lead to truth.
and sending me a website that's full of "indoctrination help" that just adds the outside thoughts to the bible in an outside effort to somehow make it make sense just proofs my point.
the problem with the christian doctrin is: as soon as you actually take a good hard look at what is said and what the words mean and that you can actually verify in the "real world", it falls appart. cause it says nothing that can be verified.
by the way "debunking" is a skeptic process looking at claims made in order to test their validity. so looking at the doctrins contradictions and making up shit to make it make sense is actually the "opposite" of what debunking means.
you're never skeptic towards your faith. cause that's what you chose. i was skeptic and that's what lead me to determine it's bullshit or rather "fiction" if you wanna use a nicer word.
That's just another way of saying: "I don't want it to be true, so I'm going to pout, and insist it isn't!" Many have done countless hours of research to conclude it's true, in spite all the reasons they wanted to believe otherwise.
I have to disagree. "But JW!" and? That's one. And in the great scheme of things it's not even a paris commune, saying it could be worst is the euphemism of the century.
Or if they taught you the same principles without the bible I'm sure it would have made the same impact. You can be taught good moral values without needing mystical fantasy stories to implement them.
Morals based upon what? Culture? Modern culture tells us that promiscuity is good for example. I wish I was taught the negative impact that promiscuity brought before I slept around so much.
All I'm saying is there are other ways to learn morals than the bible. As for sleeping around, it's not everyone's thing, but sometimes you have to learn things about yourself through life.
I mean sleeping around was my thing at the time. Morals set by culture are not a good gauge to live your life. I’m sorry you got caught up in a cult, but hiding the truth of the gospel from children isn’t the next step. That study you posted is biased and pushing a narrative.

That’s Jehova tho not any other religion. They are a small group similar to mormons
dont take it out on other faiths
This isn't just about a specific group, all religions are indoctrinating children and causing them harm as the studies show.
Ik but some religions are great and are helping kids in ways
Keeping them out of trouble and learning life morals and lessons

Thanks for your support ✋
well it's hard to indoctrinate children with sentimental contradictory bullshit, if they are capable of critical thought.
i meant to say "people". not "children". cause that shit only works with children.
But have you confused nuance with contradiction? And if you're wrong, where will you turn?
@ObscuredBeyond no i have not. confused that. christians always find ways to twist and turn every contradictory thing in the bible by adding thoughts and interpretations that are not written black and white in the bible in a desparate struggle to still have it make sense in their mind. that's the delusion techniques i was talking about won't be teachable to an "adult critical mind". you can only be indoctrinated with that as a child and then it's terribly hard to ever leave that behind.

Oftentimes, "contradictions" are just someone not reading verses maturely.
Here's a good starter kit to debunk some of the most common claims:

Parents do what they do. As an American later on, you do what you do.
Not sure why you Americans make everything about yourselves. The world is a big place you know.
I wish my parents showed me the bible when I was younger. I would have avoided a lot of mistakes.
Or if they taught you the same principles without the bible I'm sure it would have made the same impact. You can be taught good moral values without needing mystical fantasy stories to implement them.

indoctrinate kids while they’re young before they are capable of rational thought.
Interesting that you think religion is not a place for children. Out of curiosity, how do you feel about LGBTIQA+ for children?

Don’t blame shitty parenting on religion
It has a lot to do with it actually.

Literally no one does. Except scientific proof we are a product of evolution with fossils of homo habilis. If you don't like science, can't help you.
I'm a religion and this offends me
