Why God has not told you who to marry or what to do with your life

Years ago I dreamed I wore a very sloppy outfit that was way too big and I had a huge voluptuous form, I looked at myself in the mirror 2-3 years later, and my body had become tighter and the outfit had become slimmer and more flattering and form fitting. I believe the clothes represent my identity and the body represents my character.

What I got from this dream and another one about toghr clothes, is that sometimes God withholds knowledge from you, because you have not moulded into the person that is ready and able to accept that knowledge. I was deeply attracted to a guy I knew earlier this year, but once I made the commitment to obey God, I lost mostly all my desire for him.

God might withhold knowledge about who you are meant to marry, because you have not matured into somebody who would be attracted to that type of person and God might withhold knowledge about your purpose, because you have now matured into the type of person that is mature enough to fulfill what God wants you to fulfill in your purpose.

I’ve heard of biology students who get rejected by medical school on their first attempt and only after learning they want to help people, do they get accepted on their second try, you might not be ready yet, and that might be why God is not answering your queries.

I 100% agree with you. Being only 23 years old, I’ve had many struggles with fully committing myself to God. Human nature is a royal pain, but since I’ve matured and started praying a lot more throughout my day, I find that my faith has grown soooo much. And in keeping that faith, God has richly blessed me in many ways. God also likes to play jokes on me now and then. Every once in a while God will provide a coincidence that makes me go “really God, really” 😂 And you are correct in saying God will not tell us who we should marry. Luckily though, he will give us many signs of who we need to distance ourselves from. Then he leaves it up to us to pass that test and run from that person only to end up back in his arms. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. Amen. 🙏🏻

Was it ever hard to hear God? I’ve been struggling a lot recently and so I’ve started praying and trying to restore my faith in him, because I have noticed that when I pray right before a event that I’m nervous about he does watch over me, things go smoother than I expected. However when it comes to a guy I’ve been dating for 2 years, I’m lost. I have a overthinking disorder, so my thoughts are constantly flooded at seeing things as “signs”, but overthinking disorder.. a lot of those “signs” usually come to be untrue and figments of my imagination. So often I’m left confused wondering wether God is showing me something, or if I’m overthinking.

In a weird way, I usually tie this hand in hand with Jungian philosophy and building parts of my personality and self to truly become actualized and worthy of whoever that special person may be. They're very complementary theories that I find quite fascinating.
