How I view dating as a Christian woman

I think one problem with girls and guys is they don’t know when to quit. You should think of men and woman as whales, they need to rise to the surface once in a while for oxygen, and girls who only talk about dating and romance and relationship and never engage the higher spiritual parts of life are like dolphins and whales that die because they are not breathing in oxygen.

The spirit is oxygen, and having it is vital to having a good romantic connection for a religious person, another part of being religious is having the freedom to withdrawal, to allow your partner to leave a conversation and not force a continuation, to give them bonus days where they can evade their usual obligations to you or to the home you share such as fishing after work instead of having their regular phone dialogue with you.

To give them time away from friends or in laws. I used to babysit my neighbour’s kids during their 3-6 hour date nights when the man and woman wanted private bonding time with each other, having that rest keeps things more interesting.

Another thing is the best relationship is one where you don’t get all your wishes granted each time. You should refuse dates sometimes or ask for a different day than what he offers when planning to go on one, say no to a kiss once in a while, refuse to hold hands once in a while, say no once in a while when the guy asks you to dress in a certain outfit or dye your hair a certain colour or vote for a candidate that you hate, a good woman does not agree to all you ask and a woman who always agrees will only attract abusers.

You also have to view romance as a part of life and not your entire existence, cause a woman who is only good for kisses will never be taken seriously as a wife. Do you like horse back riding? Playing the piano? watching comedies on Netflix? Dancing to Michael Jackson on YouTube? Helping to prepare meals at a food bank? Hanging out with your astronomy club?

A normal guy wants a girl with hobbies and interests cause expecting him to be your only source of happiness is too much responsibility for one person.

I’m not a Christian but this is an important fundamental for anyone based on basic human psychology. You gotta have a life outside of the relationship too. No one needs to be together all the time.

You shouldn’t say no to a kiss or holding hands just to be a bitch (unless you’re out in public and that makes you uncomfortable) but basically I agree with you.

I wish you would view dating more from a biblical context rather than a worldly context. I'm not saying you don't have any good points in your post but my focus when it comes to dating is that my partner has traits that the Bible praises and that god is working in her life.

A good Christian type person also encourages his companion to educate herself in any field that she desires. Anything that will empower her beauty. Able to see her light wherever she might be in herself improvement. Being able to see her Joy.
